Solo is an anthology film, reportedly in five parts. Dulquer Salmaan plays the male lead in all five parts. Model Arti Venkatesh has been signed to play the female lead in one part.
Director Bejoy Nambiar, who is debuting in Malayalam debut with Solo, told the Times of India, “Ann is the love interest of the character played by Anson. She has already started shooting for the movie and has finished half of her portions. I can’t reveal more about her character at the moment.”
Anson, who has undergone a makeover for the film, said, “I have been with the crew since November 14 and I’m quite happy about playing a character that is quite unlike any I have done so far. It requires me to go that extra mile to play it. Moreover, it’s the first time I’m being part of a Malayalam-Tamil bilingual. We have to do the scenes twice, differently, to suit the industry sensibilities of both the languages. I am fluent in Tamil and as Dulquer is also comfortable in the language, the dialogue delivery becomes quite conversational and effortless.”
Ann rose to fame with Elsamma Enna Aankutty. She went on to play Gayathri in Artist, for which she bagged the Kerala State Film Award For Best Actress in 2013.
