The film is produced by the debutant director along with his wife Isha Pattali, under the Mise-EN-Scene Entertainment banner.

Speaking to Silverscreen India, Ajith noted that Santhosham will be a full-fledged family-oriented film. “Apart from Anu and Amit, the film will feature also actors Mallika Sukumaran, Kalabhavan Shajon, Asha Aravind, and a 10-year-old child artist named Lakshmi. The story will revolve around these six characters,” he added.

The film was formally launched on November 10 in Ernakulam and shooting began the same day. After a short break, filming resumed on Saturday and is expected to be wrapped up in around 30 days. Ajith also noted that Santhosham will be shot completely in Kochi.

Ajith has earlier worked as an associate to director Jeethu Joseph on films such as My Boss, Memories, Drishyam, and its Tamil adaptation Papanasam.

The script of Santhosham is written by Arjun Sathyan, who has previously penned the story of Rakshadhikari Baiju Oppu, the 2017 comedy-drama starring Biju Menon.

“Three years ago, I  was looking for some good scripts and that’s when art director Rajeev Kovilakom told me about Arjun Sathyan’s story. It was a cool family entertainer and I really liked it. Hence, I decided to direct the film. However, it took a while for the project to take off,” Ajith said.

The film’s music is composed by PS Jahari with singers KS Harishankar and Nithya Mammen lending their voices for the songs. Cinematographer Karthik A and editor John Kutty are also part of the technical crew.
