Anupama Paramaswaran Did Not Demand Higher Salary, Says Production House

The producers of the Ram Charan–Sukumar film have said that Anupama Parameswaran was not dropped from the film because she asked for a higher salary. While some reports suggested she was dropped for not being “glamorous enough,” other reports indicated that she was dropped for demanding higher pay. The production house Mythri Movie Maker subsequently released a statement refuting these rumours

“This is to clarify that while it is true that Anupama Parameswaran is not a part of the Ram Charan-Sukumar project, it is not correct that it is on account of high remuneration demanded by her as reported in social media and some news columns. Such news is totally false and she has not made any such demands. We wish to reiterate that Anupama is highly talented and a thorough professional and she will certainly be a part of our future projects,” reads the statement.

Earlier, before the news of her being ousted from the project had surfaced, a source told the Indian Express that she might still be considered for the second actress in the film. “Sukumar has been taking screen tests of actresses but is yet to decide on anyone. It can also be Anupama. The heroine’s role would not be a role like in any other commercial cinema, hence the scrutiny,” said the source. However, the actress has now been officially dropped and has also confirmed it from her side.

Currently, reports suggest that Samantha Ruth Prabhu is the likely choice to replace Anupama even though there has been no confirmation from either side.

Directed by Sukumar, who is best known for films like 100% Love(2011), 1:Nenokkadine (2014), and Nannaku Prematho (2016), this new project will be a rural action film. According to reports, the film has a romantic sub-plot as well as a strong social message.
