AR Rahman’s compositions for Viceroy’s House have been shortlisted for the World Soundtrack Awards. Through a post on his social media account, Rahman said:

All soundtrack and film music fans worldwide can cast their personal vote for what they consider the best soundtrack of the past 12 months. The soundtrack that gets the highest number of votes will receive the World Soundtrack Public Choice Award 2017.
The Viceroy House, directed by Gurinder Chadha, is a British-Indian historical drama with screenplay by Paul Mayeda Berges. It follows Lord Mountbatten’s last year as Viceroy of India, and the challenges he faced before the partition. The movie itself has been slammed for its inaccuracies, but the soundtrack has won a lot of praise.
