Aranmanai 3: Singers Hariharan and Shankar Mahadevan to Make Special Appearance in Upcoming Tamil Film

Kushboo Sundar, the actor turned politician, announced on January 29 that Aranmanai 3, the film directed by her husband Sundar C, will star singers Hariharan and Shankar Mahadevan in special appearances.

Aranmanai 3 will feature actors Arya, Andrea Jeremiah, Raashi Khanna, Vishakha Singh, Sakshi Agarwal, Vivek, Yogi Babu, Kovai Sarala, Manobala, and Sundar C, among others in prominent roles. While Sundar C will reprise his role as Ravi from the earlier two instalments, Arya will be the new face to Murali’s character.

Hariharan and Mahadevan will be seen performing their own songs.

The film will be the third instalment in the Aranmanai series, which is a horror comedy film series. While the first film released in 2014, the sequel released in 2016. Aranmanai featured Vinay and Hansika Motwani in lead roles, while the second instalment saw Siddharth along with Trisha in the lead roles. Jeremiah, who is acting in the third instalment, will also be seen in director Mysskin’s upcoming horror film Pisasu 2.

While the stories of all the three films are independent and not connected to one another, the theme revolves around a family that arrives at a haunted palace, under different circumstances, and the events that unfold later. The series is similar to other Tamil films like Rajinikanth’s Chandramukhi. There is usually more than two female characters in the film.

Kushboo had produced Aranmanai 2 while D Dinesh Karthik had produced the first film. Venkat Raghavan has written both prequels. UK Senthil Kumar served as the cinematographer for both films.

The film commenced its shoot in February 2020, at a palace in Rajkot in Gujarat. The team shot for a 25-day schedule before stalling the shoot due to the Covid-19 pandemic, as reported by The Hindusthan Times. They resumed shooting in Pollachi in Chennai in November 2020.

Khanna posted pictures on social media.

Aranmanai 3 is expected to release later this year.
