Arav will lead the cast of Vijay Sri’s next. The project was announced earlier today. Vijay Sri makes his debut with DhaDha 87, that has Charuhasan in the lead role.
A spokesperson for the film says that it will go on the floors soon.
“The untitled film has a unique story that will be said in the commercial format. Arav has a neatly crafted role for which he will start prepping soon.”
The director is on the lookout for a suitable female lead. On reports that actor Oviya was one of the frontrunners, the spokesperson said:
“The reports are false. We have not signed any female lead as yet. We will announce the cast and crew details soon.”
When contacted, Vijay Sri said that Arav’s casting was not motivated by a desire to cash in on Arav’s fame as the title winner of the first season of Bigg Boss Tamil. “Arav is a natural choice for the role. We didnt choose hin for his celebrity status.”

Arav has signed a project with Silambattam fame Saravanan. Vijayabhargavi Entertainment is the producer. He also has a film in which he plays a police officer. Samyuktha Hornad, last seen in Un Samayal Arayil, is the other lead in the movie. Also in the works is a feature length adaptation of Manikandan’s short film – Meendum Oru Punnagai. Sameer Bharat Ram, who co-produced Uriyadi, is the director. All movies are in varying stages of production.
Born Nafeez, the actor was seen in a supporting role in Vijay Antony’s Saithaan. He followed this with a stint on Bigg Boss, where he rose to fame for his alleged relationship with Oviya. He eventually went on to win the title.
Vijay Sri’s Dhadha 87 audiio will be launched on August 10. A first look bearing the title of Arav’s new movie will be revealed later this week.
