Arindam Sil to Start Shoot for Next Shabor Film from November

Arindam Sil‘s next film in the Shabor series, Tirandaj Shabor, will go on floors from November, the actor-director revealed in an interview with ETimes.

The fourth film in the detective thriller Goenda Shabor series, the film will have a humane story with a realistic approach, Sil said.

Actor Saswata Chatterjee will be reprising the role of Shabor Dasgupta, a detective in Kolkata Police.

The ensemble cast includes Subhrajit, Devlina Kumar, Padmanabha Dasgupta, Joydip Kundu, Anirban Chakraborti, Shankar Chakraborty and Debjani Chatterjee. “There will be a really special actor in a crucial character which remains a surprise. I will also introduce Rammani who is a brilliant dancer and she plays one of the important characters,” Sil said.

The director said that the film has love, crime, some “high-octane” action sequence and an active role for Shabor’s assistant Nanda, which was unseen in the previous films. He also mentioned that some interesting characters from different background have been added, all of which is weaved together at the end.

Among the recent works of Sil is Mayakumari, a tribute film to celebrate 100 years of Bengali cinema, set in the backdrop of the 1940s. It is the first time that the director and actor Rituparna Sengupta have collaborated for a project. The cast of the movie includes Abir Chatterjee, Rajatava Dutta, Arunima Ghosh, Sourav Das, Anindita Basu, Indrasish Roy in important roles.
