Actor Arjun Kapoor took to Twitter and lashed out at people for abusing his sister Anshula Kapoor. She faced severe backlash after an episode of the talk show Koffee With Karan, featuring her brother and half-sister Janhvi Kapoor as guests, aired last Sunday.

A segment appearing towards the end of the episode required the guests to call up a family member and get them to speak to the host of the show, Karan Johar. Janhvi Kapoor reached Anshula Kapoor only to be turned down by her after her brother joked about not coming back home in the background. Arjun Kapoor, who got his father Boney Kapoor to fulfil the task, went on to win the game.
People who started taking offence to this gesture began to abuse Anshula Kapoor.

According to a News18 report, during a panel discussion at Facebook’s Mumbai office, the Dhadak star revealed that her sister was getting rape threats over a ‘silly’ thing they did on the show.
“My sister actually just recently got trolled on social media. She did something silly on Koffee with Karan and started getting like rape threats and stuff. And it was just weird to me. As people are faceless on social media, they feel they can have opinions that sometimes cross a moral line. So when I put stuff that’s personal up on social media, I do think of that too. I feel protective towards them… what people might say about them or about my equation with them. You tend to be guarded,” she said.
This is not the first time Koffee With Karan has been at the centre of controversy. The show made headlines when Kangana Ranaut appeared in an episode and called Karan Johar ‘a flag-bearer of nepotism.’ An episode during the third season when Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor appeared together and trolled Ranbir Kapoor didn’t bore well with his father Rishi Kapoor who criticized the show, host and the guests.
