Arjun Sarja has wrapped shoot for his portion of Kolaigaran, directed by the Andrew Louis of Leelai fame. He stars in the film with Vijay Antony, and reportedly plays an important role. The film is a thriller, set to released mid next year.
Arjun Sarja is known for his negative role in the Vishal-starrer Irumbu Thirai. Kolaigaran is Vijay Antony’s next thriller after his last year’s psychological thriller Kaali, directed by Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi.
Talking about Arjun’s role in the film, a spokesperson told Silverscreen, “As the film is a thriller, revealing the details of the role might break the suspense. The makers are conscious not to reveal details of his character as it’s is equally important to Vijay Antony’s in the film.”
He also said, “The film has completed 50 percent of shoot. Full shoot will get over in a few months. The makers are planning to release the film sometime in March or April.”
Talking about the reception of his character in Irumbu Thirai, Arjun told The New Indian Express, “I have umpteen offers for hero roles, it’s tough getting a grey character. People loved me in the film (Irumbu Thirai). Of the 100 lakh people who watch my movies, if I can inspire even 100, I’d consider my job done.”
It is also being speculated that there will be a big budget sequel to PS Mithran’s Irumbu Thirai, with Arjun as Dark Angel, who specialised in cyber crime. For Kolaigaran, Vijay Antony is the music composer. Lyrics is by Thamizhanangu, who made his debut with Kaali.
Arjun Sarja has many upcoming films like the multilingual Kontract in Telugu and Kannada, and Iruvar Oppandham in Tamil directed by S. S. Sameer. He also has the Kannada film Kurukshetra, directed by Naganna. He plays Karna in the film. He has Walter in Tamil and Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham in Malayalam.
