No Plans For ‘Peruchazhi’ Remake At The Moment, Says Arun Vaidyanathan

Arun Vaidyanathan’s Malayalam film, Peruchazhi, which had Mohanlal in the lead role, is not being remade anytime soon. While there were speculations that Arun will be remaking Peruchazhi after the release of Nibunan, the director, in a conversation with Silverscreen, said he has no plans to remake the movie now.

“No, I’m not doing Peruchazhi remake as my next film. After Nibunan’s release, I’m on a month-long vacation with my family. I will decide about my next film only after I come back.”

This is not the first time that there has been rumours about Peruchazhi remake. When the original film was being made, it was rumoured that Kamal Haasan would be acting in the Tamil remake, directed by Arun Vaidyanathan. Arun denied the rumours then as well.

Peruchazhi is a political drama, which was entirely shot in the US. It follows a man who is asked to oversee the election campaign of a gubernatorial candidate.
