Arya goes the extra mile for Meagamann

Meagamann’s director Magizh Thirumeni  was all praise for his hero Arya and revealed a “secret” about him at a recent press meet. Arya had to undergo a minor surgery in his knee as the movie was progressing.  “Arya resumed work while he was recovering. And on the day he came back to work, he had to kneel for a long time to shoot a particular scene. We were all worried that his knee might hurt. But Arya showed no apprehensions. This dedication and his love for the craft makes Arya special,” noted Magizh.

Dismissing reports on Shruti Haasan being approached for the lead role, Magizh said that he was advised by the producer Nemichand Jhabak to narrate the story to Hansika. Magizh said, “After our discussion, Hansika said she loved the script. I can’t imagine anyone else in Hansika’s role.”

Meagamann means ‘captain of the ship’. Lyricist Madhan Karky, who has written two songs for the film, revealed that the title is used as a metaphor as the protagonist displays traits of a ship’s captain. S Thaman has composed three tracks for Meagamann, which will release soon.
