Cinematographer Ashok Kumar’s Health Improves

Ashok Kumar, the cinematographer for films like Jeans, Johnny and Uthiripookkal, who had been admitted last month due to sudden health issues, to the SRM hospital at Kattankulathur in Chennai is said to be recuperating. The ageing Cinematographer has worked in over 100 movies in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and English and has won the National Award for the Best Cinematographer for ‘Nenjathai Killathe’ in 1980. A press release from his son Aakash assures the media of his stable health and says, “My father also personally wishes to state that he is very close to his friends from the film fraternity and it has always been his first family for the last 3 decades. I request on behalf of my family and friends, for your prayers and wishes for his speedy recovery.” Here’s wishing the cinematographer a speedy recovery too.
