Filmmaker Raaja Kiran had managed to draw attention to his work when he directed the hit film Geetanjali, starring Anjali in the lead. And now for his upcoming film Vishwamitra, he has put together an interesting cast in place.
Tamil actor Prasanna, who has done a few Telugu films in the past, including Jawaan, will play a key role in the film. Also Nanditha Raj, who has been absent from the big screen for a while now, is the female lead in the film. Another interesting casting choice is that of actor Ashutosh Rana who is now on board as the film’s antagonist.

Reveals a source, “Nanditha is really excited to be a part of the film because her role has fleshed out quite well. She was on a hiatus only to come back with an author-backed role and this felt like the perfect choice. She will be seen as the employee at a software firm, while Prasanna will play a close friend of hers. Ashutosh will be the antagonist with a comic touch to his character. He’s always excited to be a part of Telugu films and readily agreed when approached.”
The film’s shoot has already begun, with the first schedule being completed. Ashutosh will join the next schedule which starts from July 12 in Hyderabad and will go on till the end of the month. Vishwamitra is said to be a thriller and is based on real incidents that took place in the US and Switzerland.
Raaja Kiran is co-producing the film, that also stars Vidyulekha Raman, Chamak Chandra and Getup Sreenu amongst others, with Madhavi Addanki.
