This is director Kannan’s second movie with Atharvaa after Boomerang, which released this March. The film was an action thriller co-starring Megha Akash and Indhuja Ravichandran.

Director Kannan told Silverscreen that he wanted to break away from making serious films. “The new film is a romantic one, a story about families and relationships. We’ve had many thrillers and whodunits in the last few months. So, I thought I should make a feel-good film that ends on a light note.”

Atharvaa and Anupama were his first choices for the cast. “Atharvaa signed up for this film even during the shoot of Valmiki. We wanted a new, young pair and approached Anupama Parameswaran, who also readily agreed. She plays a Bharatanatyam dancer in the film and Atharvaa, a PhD research scholar from Delhi.”

Following a 20-day schedule in Chennai starting July 15, the team will go to the US or Australia for a small portion of shoot. Cinematography is by Shanmuga Sundaram, who worked on Prem Kumar’s 96, and the dialogues are by Kaliban Vairamuthu.

Production is by director Kannan himself. The rest of the cast and crew is being finalised.

Meanwhile, Kannan will also simultaneously shoot for his upcoming film with Santhanam, a full-fledged comedy set in a village. He confirmed that shoot will begin in August after Santhanam wraps up other projects. Both his films are scheduled to release by this year end.
