The makers earlier announced that the film, carrying the tagline ‘Life Finds a Way’, is set against the backdrop of ethical organ transplants. Written and directed by debutant Anirban, Aye Zindagi is based on a true story.

As reported by PTI, Anirban said in a statement, “As a doctor, people share with me their most intimate secrets, hopes and desires, which gives me a unique window into human existence. I have personally lived with this story for many years, and I am excited to bring it to screen with such a talented cast and crew.”

Aye Zindagi is produced by Shiladitya Bora under the Platoon One Films banner. Bora earlier backed the 2020 National Award-winning Marathi film Picasso as well as the 2018 Hindi film Yours Truly, starring Soni Razdan and Pankaj Tripathi.

The producer said in the statement, “When we first heard the incredible true story of the real people on which the film is based, we knew it deserved to be told on screen, not only for its rich and engaging narrative, but also for the sheer beauty of human relationships that are built around ethical organ donations.” He also added that they believe this story will resonate with the audience and bring a fresh perspective on a complex and often misunderstood subject.

Revathi, who is making a comeback to Hindi cinema with the film, noted that it will be challenging to shoot the entire film in a hospital. She also said that Aye Zindagi has a very heartening story and is a feel-good film.

Dubey, who was recently seen in the Amazon Prime Video series Mumbai Diaries 26/11, said that Aye Zindagi is the most emotionally and physically challenging project of his career. The actor plays the role of a young man with liver cirrhosis.

Aye Zindagi also marks the Hindi debut of former Miss Kerala Indu Thampy, who was last seen in the Malayalam survival thriller Eighteen Hours. The film also features Gujarati actor Hemant Kher alongside actors Shrikant Verma, Sawan Tank, and Mahesh Sharma.
