According to a Times of India report, the pro-Kannada groups are upset with actor Sathyaraj, who plays Katappa in the film, for making pro-Tamil statements during the Cauvery water row. Further, the organisations want a formal apology from the actor, who received much acclaim for his portrayal in the first film.

Sathyaraj’s portrayal of Katappa has been iconic and created a lot of curiosity with the end of the first installment. A major question circulating around social media was: ‘Why did Katappa kill Baahubali?’

Baahubali 2: The Conclusion stars Prabhas, Anushka Shetty, Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah, Sathyaraj and Ramya Krishnan in pivotal roles.
