It had been reported that Rajarajan had bought theatrical rights to the second part of the movie for Rs. 52 crores. According to a press release issued by the producers, Rajarajan presented them with a cheque amounting to Rs. 17.6 crores that was dishonoured by the bank in August owing to lack of sufficient funds.

Arka Media Works approached a Hyderabad Court that directed Rajarajan to pay the company the amount within a week, failing which his bank accounts would be attached. Rajarajan, who had appeared during the case to contest the claims, has failed to pay the money and the producers now seek to attach his bank accounts.

“This communication is addressed for placing the said facts on record,” read the closing lines of the producer’s statement.
