KV Vijayendra Prasad, the Baahubali films’ script writer, is reportedly interested in scripting a film based on the Maratha warrior king Shivaji. In an interview with Bangalore Mirror, the writer said he looked up to Shivaji with the utmost respect.
“Since childhood, we have never seen Shivaji Maharaja only as a Maratha. For us he is a hero of the entire India. His fame has spread from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. He is my favourite hero. My dream is to write movies on his life too,” he said.
He is currently working on his TV debut with the Hindi serial Aarambh which is set in the early days of civilisation. Speaking about the concept of the TV show, he says, “We had a matrilineal system earlier. A king was known by the name of his mother, such as Gautamiputra or Maurya Chandragupta from his mother Mura. But no one knows When and how that system changed to a patriarchal society. I want to write this and tell the story of the Aryans and the Dravidians.”
