The Directors Union, headed by Vikraman, has confirmed that director Karthik Subbaraj has approached them seeking an intervention on his ongoing altercation with the Producers Council. The Producers Council, unhappy with the portrayal of producers in Karthik’s film Iraivi, have laid an unofficial and controversial ban on the young director. The ban is also motivated by Karthik allegedly exceeded Iraivi‘s budget by a vast amount. Vikraman said that Karthik has given the Union a letter explaining his position.
Vikraman further said that the Directors Union has always maintained cordial relations with the Producers Council, and they hoped to resolve the issue soon.
