Bharath & Premgi Amaren Play Man & Dog In Simba

After a series of box-office failures, actor Bharath is making a comeback in what is likely to be the first stoner film in Tamil. Simba, directed by debutant director Aravind Sridhar will also star Premgi Amaren. At the reporters meet, Aravind said, “Simba is a film about the relationship between a human being (six senses) and an animal (five senses). Bharath plays a drug addict (Mahesh) in the film, while Premgi plays Simba, a dog.”

According to the director, the story of Simba is a combination of a real story from his friend’s life, and his own imaginary additions. Mahesh (Bharath) hallucinates that a dog (Premgi Amaren) is a man, and the plot revolves around the comic incidents that follow. Reportedly a black comedy, Simba also stars Telugu actress Bhanu Mehra of Varudu fame, and Swathi Dixit. Powerstar Srinivasan and Lollu Sabha Swaminathan play supporting roles, along with director Venkat Prabhu in a guest appearance.

Music director Vishal Chandrasekar, who worked on Santhosh Sivan’s Inam and Appuchi Gramam has composed five songs for Simba. Yuvan Shankar Raja and Shakthishree Gopalan have sung a song each in the film. Actor Premgi Amaren was last seen in Maanga as a solo hero. The film didn’t do well at the box office.
