Debutant director Manisharma’s Bayam Oru Payanam, a horror film, will star Bharath Reddy. During the film’s press release, Bharath Reddy said the theme of the supernatural in the story had resonated with his own experiences as a practicing in Hyderabad. When asked to elaborate, Bharath said, “While discussing the story of the film, I realised that my character experiences certain illusions, or hallucinations. The dilemma that the character undergoes, as he oscillates between reality and illusion forms the story. As a doctor, there have been times when I lost a patient. Not just me, every doctor is affected by a loss like that. At times, I have hit the bed after a day like that, and dreamed I was conversing with the patient. Or felt like I rescued them in my dream. That’s why I could relate to the story, and my character.”

“There are no comedy tracks in the film. This will be a 100% horror film, unlike the horror films we often see these days,” Bharath Reddy added.

Bayam Oru Payanam has been shot in Munnar, Chennai, and Hyderabad. The technical crew of the film includes cinematographer I Andrew, music director YR Prasad, art director Karthik Rajkumar, editor L.V.K.Dass, dance choreographer Shankar, and stunt choreographer ‘Stunner’ Sam.

The team expects to release the film in August.
