Biopic On Slain Rapper Tupac Shakur

Slain 90’s rapper Tupac Shakur would have turned 45 on 16 June this year. The trailer of his upcoming biopic All Eyez On Me, was released on his birthday.

The trailer gives a glimpse of the former hip-hop star’s rags to riches story as shown in the film. Tracing significant events from his life until his assassination, the film stars newcomer Demetrius Shipp Jr. as the rapper. The film also includes Kat Graham as Jada Pinkett, Stefon Washington as fellow-rapper and colleague Puff Daddy, Dominic L Satana as Shakur’s record producer and co-founder of Death Row Records ‘Suge Knight’ and recording artist Maino as Walter “King Tut” Johnson, the man who was accused of killing Tupac .

Shot by unknown gunmen on 7 September, 1997 in Las Vegas, Tupac succumbed to his injuries six days later. The rapper’s murder in 1996 made headlines all over the world and the whole music industry mourned the loss of this phenomenal talent. Twenty years later, in spite of numerous investigations, nobody knows who killed him.

Directed by Benny Boom, who is best known as the music video director of many hip-hop and R&B songs, the film is expected to release this November, a few months after Tupac’s 20th death anniversary.
