His case at the sessions court was represented by senior advocate Mahesh Bora. The lawyer claimed that he has since been receiving a lot of threats via calls and messages.

The Jodhpur court on April 5 convicted Salman Khan and acquitted the rest in the case that dates back to 1998. He has been sentenced to five years of imprisonment and a penalty of Rs 10,000 was also levied on him. All the accused in the case, including Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Neelam were present in the court at the time of the pronouncement of the verdict.
