Bollywood Has Become Obsessed With Box Office Numbers: Farah Khan

Happy New Year Dubai World Premiere Stills

Not only filmmakers, even the audience has started to consider the box office success as a standard for good films, director-choreographer Farah Khan recently said, according to The Asian Age. Whenever a film has big stars, everyone in Bollywood becomes obsessed with the box office earnings. Today, the box office collection of any film decides the standard of the film, she added.

Ahead of the releases of Sanju and Race 3, Farah Khan said that she is worried about how people are not bothered about the quality of the film, rather they are concerned more about the amount of money that the films make in the box office.

“My driver was also asking the same question, as to how many crores a film will do. Will it do Rs 100 crores or Rs 200 crores. This has become very normal today,” said Farah, according to the report. She also said that people should focus on the other aspects of the film as well. “People should discuss the merit of the film, and how good it is rather than discussing how much money it will make. We are not going to get any money from that. So why should we discuss that?” she added.
