Sheril’s ‘Jimmiki Kammal‘ Second Most Watched Video On YouTube India
The ‘Jimmiki Kammal‘ song from Mohanlal’s film Velipaadinte Pusthakam went viral early in the year. While the song was composed by Shaan Rahman and sung by Vineeth Sreenivasan, Renjith Unni, we mostly owe a young Accounts teacher from the Indian School of Commerce (Kochi) credit for making it go viral. Kangana Ranaut Speaks Up For Padmavati
Actress Kangana Ranaut, who has been keeping a low profile ever since the release of her film Simran, refused to sign a petition circulated by Shabana Azmi that draws attention towards the threats faced by Padmavati actress Deepika Padukone. Kangana, however, said that it is absolutely wrong that Deepika has issued threats.
“I feel we should not attack individuals, we should attack patriarchy and chauvinism. For individuals, we can call them out and say whatever you are doing is not right,” said Kangana.
Shahid Kapoor, who plays Raja Ratan Singh in Padmavati, thanked his Rangoon co-star Kangana for supporting the film and further said, “I don’t think creative people should be scared because you can’t create if you are constricted. You can’t create unless you feel liberated and open, and I think art is a reflection of society at large.”
Meanwhile, on the Padmavati controversy, the Bombay High Court said that the country has come to a situation where people cannot voice their opinions.
“In which other country do you see threats given to artists and performers? It is distressing to know that a person makes a feature film and several people work tirelessly towards it, but is not able to release the film because of continued threats. What have we come to?” said Justice Dharmadhikari, according to PTI.
