French actress Marion Cotillard has slammed rumours of her involvement in the Brad Pitt-Angelina Jolie divorce. Responding to the speculations, the actress dismissed her involvement and wished the soon-to-be separated couple well.
Marion Cotillard and Brad Pitt are working together in the movie, Allied. Rumours of their romantic relationship emerged in August. Many weeklies reported that Angelina Jolie was angered at Brad Pitt’s close relationship with his co-star. Meanwhile, few reports claim that Angelina had hired a private detective to spy on him. “She hired a private eye because she felt that he was fooling around with her on the set, and it turns out, he was. And that was the final straw,” a source told The Post. The context is ironic because Jolie and Pitt allegedly got together while shooting for the 2005 action-comedy Mr. & Mrs. Smith while Pitt was still married to FRIENDS star Jennifer Aniston.
Marion Cotillard disabused all notions of her involvement through her Instagram page. She is currently expecting her second child with her boyfriend, Guillaume Canet. The actress in her post said,
This is going to be my first and only reaction to the whirlwind news that broke 24 hours ago and that I was swept up into. I am not used to commenting on things like this nor taking them seriously but as this situation is spiraling and affecting people I love, I have to speak up. Firstly, many years ago, I met the man of my life, father of our son and of the baby we are expecting. He is my love, my best friend, the only one that I need. Secondly to those who have indicated that I am devastated, I am very well thank you. This crafted conversation isn’t distressing. And to all the media and the haters who are quick to pass judgment, I sincerely wish you a swift recovery. Finally, I do very much wish that Angelina and Brad, both whom I deeply respect, will find peace in this very tumultuous moment.
Meanwhile, there are also reports that say American actress/singer Selena Gomez has a hand in their divorce. Pitt and Gomez worked together in the 2015 movie, The Big Short.
A Telegraph report claims that Jolie was enraged by the photograph Selena posted on her Instagram page. The photo was taken at the Golden Globes awards.

A BBC report quoted the actress’ lawyer, Robert Offer, as saying that the “decision was made for the health of the family”.
