Captain America 4: ‘The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’ Writers to Team Up for New Part of Marvel’s Superhero Film Series

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier‘s writers Malcolm Spellman and Dala Musson will collaborate to develop the fourth instalment of the Captain America franchise, after the success of their web series The Falcon and The Winter Soldieraccording to The Hollywood Reporter.

Spellman is the head writer, and Musson is a staff writer of Disney+ and Marvel’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

The six-episode web series, which released on March 19, stars Anthony Mackie as Falcon (Sam Wilson) and Sebastian Stan as Winter Soldier (Bucky Barnes).

Chris Evans played the titular role of the superhero (Steve Rogers) in Captain America: The First Avenger (2011), Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) and Captain America: Civil War (2016). He retired by passing his shield to Falcon in the 2019 film Avengers: Endgame.

In the Disney+Hotstar web series, Falcon teams up with Winter Soldier in a worldwide adventure that tests their abilities and patience. The Falcon and The Winter Soldier’s last episode which released on Friday revealed the scope for making a feature film.

The report stated that the feature film would focus on Falcon.

“No director is attached, and Evans’ involvement/return remains unconfirmed. Marvel was tight-lipped as usual,” the report stated.

Spellman’s team had all-Black writers for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier series. Unlike other superhero films or shows, this series was received well by the audience and appreciated for highlighting  Black experiences.

The report stated that the series has tackled issues from discriminatory lending practices to America building itself on the backs of Black people.
