CBFC Removes Lesbian Sex Scene From Charlize Theron’s ‘Atomic Blonde’

The CBFC has allegedly cut a major scene from this Friday’s release, Atomic Blonde. The film, with Charlize Theron in the lead, has received several cuts. Apparently, a same-sex lovemaking scene featuring Sofia Boutella and Theron has also been cut, in addition to the muting of some swear words.

A spokesperson for the CBFC confirmed the reports and said, “There were some objectionable scenes and words used in the film. It was deleted in accordance with our existing rules and regulations.”

When asked why the CBFC decided to approve a lovemaking scene in Fire, and decided to remove one from Atomic Blonde, CBFC Chief Pahlaj Nihalani is reported to have said:

“You must ask why it was passed by whoever was in my place back then.”

Atomic Blonde will release in theatres on August 11.
