Cheenu Mohan, known for playing supporting roles in various Tamil movies, is reportedly a part of Atlee’s film Mersal starring Vijay in the lead. The 61-year-old actor plays father to one of the lead heroines.
“It is not easy to get a chance to work with Vijay, and when I got a call from Atlee’s team, I immediately accepted. I cannot wait to start shooting with the team. Atlee, I think, is a great director and brings out the best in an actor, which is very important,” he told The Times of India.
Last seen in Karthik Subbaraj’s Iraivi and M Manikandan’s Aandavan Kattalai from last year, Cheenu Mohan also has Vetrimaaran’s Vada Chennai in the pipeline. For Mersal, he will start shooting from the first week of July.
Mersal, directed by Atlee, has Vijay, Nithya Menen, Samantha, Kajal Aggarwal in the lead roles. The music is by AR Rahman and it is being bankrolled by Thenandal Studios (their 100th film).
