Actor-producer Ram Charan Teja has announced that the Chiranjeevi-starrer Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy will release on Dasara this year. This puts to rest the speculations around the film’s release date.

Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy is a biopic on the freedom fighter Narasimha Rao from Kurnool, Uyyalawada. Amitabh Bachchan is rumoured to play Chiranjeevi’s mentor Gosai Venkanna in the film. The cast also has Kiccha Sudeep, Jagapathi Babu, Nayanthara, Pragya Jaiswal, Tamannaah Bhatia and Vijay Sethupathi. Sethupathi reportedly plays a Tamil king in the film.
Directed by Surender Reddy, the film is produced by Ram Charan under his banner Konidela Production Company. It has a budget of Rs 150 crores. Cinematography is by Ravi Varman and script by the Paruchuri Brothers. Music is by Amit Trivedi.
The film was primarily shot in Telugu, but will also release in Tamil and Hindi.
Talking about Chiranjeevi’s character, the film’s writer duo Paruchuri brothers, who have previously worked on Rudrama Devi, told Silverscreen, “Narasimha Reddy’s story is one of valour and great courage. It required an actor who holds the same principles dear in order to bring some accuracy and life to the movie.”
“There was no one else who could pull this off except Chirajeevi garu. He has gravitas. He has the moral fibre. And, most important of all, his fans and the Telugu audience will believe it when he appears as the man who faced a colonial power.”
Meanwhile, the producer of the film, Ram Charan’s Vinaya Vidheya Rama is set for a Sankaranthi release. The film is directed by Boyapati Srinu, and produced by DVV Dhanayya under his banner Dhanayya Entertainments.
