Choreographer Bosco Leslie Martis Announces Title Of Directorial Debut; ‘Rocket Gang’ Will Be A Dance Horror-Comedy

Choreographer Bosco Leslie Martis, part of the choreographer duo Bosco-Caesar, has announced that he would be venturing into direction for a dance horror-comedy around April, last year. The choreographer had also added that he would be roping in dancers who are capable of acting while also taking a few from the reality dance TV show Dance India Dance thar he judges. Bankrolled by Zee Studios, the film was to earlier commence with the shoot in February of this year.

On Monday, Bosco took to Twitter to announce that the film has been titled Rocket Gang and will star Aditya Seal and Nikita Dutta in lead roles with Amit Trivedi on the music. The rest of the cast and crew is yet to be revealed.

The film will reportedly have five dancers in the lead including Aditya and Nikita and will be shot in real-time VR. While the technique has been used in recent Hollywood blockbusters such as The Jungle Book and The Mandalorian, it be will experimented with for the first time in India. Rocket Gang is targeted especially at kids, pre-teens, and teens, and this modern, cutting edge, real-time VR technique will reportedly provide an interactive experience for the same.

Director Bosco feels emotional as he steps into the shoes of a director. He says the film will be a genre-defining family entertainer. “Rocket Gang is a fun, crazy, emotional entertainer that audiences can watch as a family together. I’m super excited and pumped to use this amazing, game-changing real-time VR technology to shoot. We will also be creating a 3D virtual set to make it as realistic as possible.”

He added, “It’s a true collaboration with Zee Studios who are leaving no stone unturned for me to get the best possible immersive and interactive experience to create spectacular visuals necessary to fulfill my vision for Rocket Gang.”

It will not only drastically reduce our post-production time but also decrease expected manpower during the shoot, thereby, adhering to all safety guidelines when we start the shoot.”

Rocket Gang is currently in the pre-production phase and will reportedly go on floors in the next few months. It has been slated for a Summer 2021 release.
