Christopher Nolan’s Next Is A WWII Film Titled Dunkirk

Ace director Christopher Nolan’s next has been titled Dunkirk, and the producers of the film, Warner Bros, has scheduled it for July 21, 2017. The screenplay of the film is penned by Nolan himself.

The World War II story will be based on real events – the Dunkirk evacuation of 1940. The film’s production is set to begin in May. The film will be shot on a mix of IMAX 65mm and 65mm large format film.

During World War II, between 27 May and 4 June 1940, when large numbers of Belgian, British, and French troops were cut off and surrounded by the German army,  Allied soldiers were evacuated from the beaches and harbour of Dunkirk, France. Nolan’s film, reportedly, will be based on this incident.
