Cinematographer Ravi Varman will be working with Mani Ratnam in the director’s next film, which stars Karthi and Dulquer Salmaan in the lead. Mani Ratnam has previously collaborated with several cinematographers, including Rajiv Menon, Santosh Sivan, Ravi K Chandran and PC Sreeram, but this will be his first film with Ravi Varman.

The project will most likely commence in November, after Karthi and Dulquer complete their ongoing projects. Although there has been no confirmation on the female lead, reports suggest that Shruti Haasan and Keerthi Suresh may be approached for the role. Former child artist and daughter of actor-director R Parthiepan, Keerthana Parthiepan, will be one of the assistant directors in the film.
Ravi Varman has previously worked on several films, including Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyadu, Dasavatharam, Barfi!, Ram-Leela, and the recently released Tamasha.
