‘Connect’ is the Title of Nayanthara’s Next Film; First Look Out

Nayanthara‘s next film has been titled Connect, the makers announced on Thursday on the occasion of the actor’s birthday. They also released a couple of posters featuring Nayanthara and co-star Haniya Nafisa.

Connect is produced by filmmaker Vignesh Shivan under the Rowdy Pictures banner and co-produced by Mayilvaganan KS, with Gubendiran VK serving as associate producer.

The upcoming film is set to be directed by filmmaker Ashwin Saravanan, who has previously collaborated with Nayanthara on the 2015 neo-noir Tamil horror film Maya. Like their earlier collaboration, Connect is also expected to fall under the horror genre. The story is written by Ashwin in association with Kaavya Ramkumar.

Aside from Nayanthara and Haniya Nafisa, the cast also includes Sathyaraj and Anupam Kher in prominent roles.

The technical crew consists of Manikantan Krishnamachary as the cinematographer and Richard Kevin as the editor. The film will have music composed by Prithvi Chandrasekhar.

Meanwhile, Nayanthara, who was last seen in Annaatthe alongside Rajinikanth, has projects lined up in various languages.

She will be making her Hindi debut with Atlee’s film starring Shah Rukh Khan.

In Malayalam, she has director Alphonse Putharen’s Gold, co-starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, which went on floors in September.

In Tamil, she has Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal, directed by Vignesh Shivan and co-starring  Vijay Sethupathi and Samantha Ruth Prabhu. In it, Nayanthara will be playing the role of Kanmani, as per the first look poster released recently. The film is scheduled to release in theatres in December, though the exact date has not yet been announced.

Nayanthara also produces films under the Rowdy Pictures along with her partner Vignesh Shivan. One of these is the upcoming film Oorkuruvi. The couple also backed the Tamil film Koozhangal, which is India’s official entry to the 2022 Oscars.
