Couple Claims Dhanush Used Fake Birth Certificate in Court

The dust over actor Dhanush’s parentage claims refuses to settle down, as the elderly couple claiming he is their son, allege that the birth certificate produced by the actor in court, is fake.

The 33-year-old actor had moved the Madurai High Court seeking to quash the petition filed by the couple. Dhanush has mentioned in his petition before the Madurai HC that the paternity claim by the couple was a clear case of “blackmail” and also urged the bench to stay proceedings in the trial court.

Dhanush’s petition states that the popular actor was born to Krishnamoorthy, now known as Kasthuri Raja, and his wife, Vijayalakshmi. Dhanush was named Venkatesh Prabhu until he changed his name after his entry to the industry in 2003. He has also stated that he was born on July 28, 1983 at the Government Children’s Hospital in Egmore, Chennai.

The Maari actor also argued that the magistrate should not have summoned him without any prima facie evidence and just by the complaint by the couple. On this ground, the court has been requested to dispense the actor’s appearance as well as dismiss the case.

In a counter affidavit filed by R Kathiresan and Meenakshi, the couple claim to have ample evidence to prove that the Kodi actor is their son, if a trial is conducted. The couple moved court on November 25, 2016 under the claims that they are indeed the real parents of Dhanush and hence, were also entitled for a monthly maintenance of Rs 65,000. In turn, the Judicial Magistrate Court in Melur, Madurai had summoned the actor to appear for a hearing on January 12.
