The Bengaluru High Court, on Thursday, banned Lingaa‘s warring distributors from holding protests against Rajinikanth or the film’s producer, Rockline Venkatesh.
According to The Hindu, the court has also banned the distributors from making negative remarks on Rajinikanth to the media. The ban comes after a petition was filed by Rockline Venkatesh citing recent instances where the distributors had taken to issuing ultimatums through the media and also criticising the actions of Rajinikanth.
The conflict between distributors and Rajinikanth began after the star’s much-hyped last release – Lingaa – did poor business at the boxoffice.
The distributors’ recent declaration that they would hold a Mega Pichchai event had come under heavy criticism from the Tamil Nadu Producer’s Council and many others in the industry.
According to reports, Sarath Kumar is in the process of mediating talks between the distributors and Rajinikanth.
