This Monday, lead actors Vin Diesel (Fast and Furious) and Deepika Padukone shared teasers of xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage, the Hollywood film scheduled to release in 2017. Monday was also Vin Diesel’s birthday.
Deepika, who plays a character called Serena Unger, shared the clip that focuses on her character.
Vin Diesel shared a different teaser, which had background music by Jimi Hendrix’s ‘Voodoo Child’. The teaser offers a glimpse of the action-adventure sequences in the film, and has Diesel announcing, “It’s good to be back”.
Deepika had recently revealed a poster of the film. This is her first Hollywood film. Directed by DJ Caruso, the lead character Xander Cage, returns after 14 years. The film is a sequel of xXx (2002), which starred Diesel as adventure stunts and sports enthusiast Xander Cage, who reluctantly becomes a spy for the National Security Agency in order to infiltrate a group of potential terrorists from Russia. xXx starred Italian actress Asia Argento opposite Diesel.
xXx: The Return Of Xander Cage also stars Samuel L Jackson, who will play his original character, along with The Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev, and model-DJ Ruby Rose.
The trailer of the film will be launched on 20 July. The film is slated to release in January 2017.
