According to the makers of the film, Devil will be a pan-Indian project “made on a lavish budget with high technical standards” in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, and Kannada.

Kalyanram will essay the role of a British secret agent, said the press release, which added: “Set in Madras Presidency of British India in 1945, Devil is the story of a British secret agent who takes up the job of solving a dark mystery. This mystery is deeper than he can fathom and this leads him into a web of love, deceit, and betrayal. His success and failure both have serious repercussions, and this mystery has the potential to change the course of history.”

Speaking to Silverscreen India about the film, a source close to the production unit, on the condition of anonymity, said, “The film falls under the thriller-drama genre. The cast and crew of the film have not yet been confirmed, but talks are on to rope in actor Sai Pallavi for the female lead role.”

According to the source, the film’s pre-production work has been completed and the team is waiting for Kalyanram’s dates allocation to schedule the shoot.

The source added that it will take a few months for the film to go on floors since the actor has a handful of projects to complete first, such as Bimbisara with Vashisht, a film with Mythri Movie Makers, and another one with Dil Raju’s Sri Venkateswara Creations banner.
