Actor-turned-director Dhanush may make a sequel to his directorial debut Pa Paandi starring Rajkiran and Revathi. The film, which released mid-April, opened to favourable reviews from audience and critics. Speaking to The Times of India, the actor said, “I would be lying if I said no. I have an idea for Pa Paandi 2, but I don’t know when it will happen, or if it will happen at all. Right now, I am just enjoying this phase.”

Focusing on the theme of forbidden love and finding love at a later stage in life, Dhanush said the movie was nothing short of a dream project for him. “I made 17 short films to try and understand the craft by making mistakes. But this doesn’t mean I am ready now… I still feel I am not ready yet, but sometimes, you just need to have blind faith and take the plunge. I think I just did that.”

Dhanush is currently busy with director Vetrimaaran’s Vada Chennai and said he is extremely excited about the project. The sequel to VIP has also been completed and is ready to release soon. “The sequel will be as exciting as VIP. But you can’t compare both these films. It has its own elements and I am sure it will be as successful as part one,” he told ToI. The film is directed by Soundarya Rajnikanth and stars Kajol and Amala Paul in the lead.
