Dhanush To Star In Two Productions By Sathya Jyothi Films

Dhanush At The 'Maari 2' Press Meet

Sathya Jyothi Films has announced two upcoming ventures with Dhanush. The production house, headed by TG Thyagarajan, is currently producing Ajith Kumar’s Viswasam.

Producer TG Thyagarajan made the announcement about their collaboration with Dhanush on New Year’s day. Dhanush also tweeted about it. He has previously worked with the production house for his film Thodari, directed by Prabhu Solomon in 2016.

One of his two films with the production house will be directed by RS Durai Senthil Kumar. Dhanush has previously worked with Durai in Kodi, starring Trisha, Anupama Parameswaran, Saranya Ponvannan and Kali Venkat in pivotal roles.

His second with Sathya Jyothi will be directed by Ram Kumar of Mundasupatti and Ratsasan fame. The director had earlier said in an interview that the film will be a fantasy comedy with Dhanush as the lead.

Director Ram Kumar reportedly told IANS, “The scripting work is still underway because Dhanush sir is occupied with two other commitments. This film has a fantasy-based subject, with good scope for comedy. Due to many reasons, my second film took a lot of time. It won’t happen this time. We hope to wrap up Dhanush sir’s film in six months after it goes on floors.”


He said about Dhanush’s role in the film, “His is a unique character, and I think only Dhanush can pull it off. The energy that he brings to a character is un-matchable.”

Dhanush was last seen in Balaji Mohan’s action-comedy Maari 2, a sequel to his 2015 film. He will next be seen in Asuran directed by Vetrimaran. He recently collaborated with Vetrimaran for the first part of the Vada Chennai trilogy.

Dhanush’s second directorial isunder production. It is financed by Thenandal Film Studio, and stars him in the lead, with Nagarjuna, Srikanth and SJ Suryah. The yet to be titled film went on floors early in 2018.

Dhanush also has Enai Nokki Paayum Thota with Gautham Menon. The film was supposed to release in 2018, but was postponed. Megha Akash plays the female lead, music for the film is by Darbuka Siva.
