Actor Dhanush is on a roll! He recently won hearts after unveiling the poster of his first Hollywood film, The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir, at Cannes. And now, all eyes are on the actor’s next project.
Dhanush’s maiden production Pa Paandi ruled the roost at the box office and recently there were rumors about a sequel being planned this year. Dhanush then confirmed in an interview that he has other plans as he will return to direction soon after wrapping up Maari 2.
According to The News Minute, Dhanush has already started work on his second directorial project, which is rumoured to be a romantic period drama. Apparently, the pre-production work is on and the actor is busy finalizing the star cast. The film’s official shooting is set to begin from August. The report also added that Telugu star Nagarjuna will also be a part of the project, but nothing has been confirmed as yet.
Pa Paandi had actor Prasanna playing a pivotal role, and it is told that he will be a part of Dhanush’s second directorial as well. But for now, Dhanush is busy playing the goon in Maari 2. The actor also has a Karthik Subbaraj film in his kitty.

Furthermore, Dhanush revealed in an interview to Bharadwaj Rangan that he will working with Raanjhanaa director Aanand L Rai. He said, “I think they are looking to release Zero in December, so the pre-production work on my film will only begin then.”
He also revealed that there will be another film under the VIP franchise, reported Hindustan Times.
For now, Dhanush has completed shooting for Vada Chennai, his third outing with Vetrimaaran, after Pollathavan and Aadukalam. The actor is seen sporting a bearded look in the film which portrays three decades in the life of a gangster, played by Dhanush, from North Madras.
