Dhanush’s Father Kasthuri Raja Not Bothered By ‘Baseless’ Paternity Suit

Kasthuri Raja says the paternity claim filed by an elderly Madurai couple on his son Dhanush didn’t bother him, as he knew the case was baseless. However, he did mind that Dhanush was dragged to court. Dhanush won the case after the Madras High Court found no evidence to sustain the couple’s claim.

Meanwhile, Kasthuri Raja told the Times of India“From the beginning we were not disturbed by the case as we knew it was completely baseless. We maintained a dignified silence as we knew that the law would take its course. The world knows the truth and now the judgment is an evidence of the same. Also, we had all the records, including the gazette notification, of his name change from Vengadesha Prabhu to Dhanush. There is a limit to wish for somebody else’s property. Their claim was beyond limits.”

While Kasthuri Raja was upset at the way Dhanush was dragged to court, it was the actor who pacified him.

According to reports, the Melur-based couple who lodged the paternity claim now plan to approach the Supreme Court. “It was sad to see Dhanush standing in the court. I was upset that he had to undergo such tribulations for no fault of his. Whenever I told him about that, he used to pacify me, ‘Forgive them, (the couple), appa’. Even now he says the same, ‘forgive them’. Our kids are our pillars of strength and Dhanush is one.”

Kasthuri Raja said that even if the duo approached the Supreme Court, they would not win. He said, “Wherever they go, they will not win. While they claimed that their son was missing from June 2002, we had the censor certificate of Thulluvatho Ilamai, starring Dhanush, which got censored in March 2002. In fact, the film was released in May that year and soon he went on to become a popular actor.”
