Actor Dhanush’s Thodari is all set for an August release, say sources close to the film. Although there has been no official confirmation yet, rumours say that the makers are aiming for a August 12 release, bearing in mind the long weekend.
The film, which has Keerthy Suresh playing the female lead, is a romantic-thriller unfolding on a moving train. Directed by Prabhu Solomon, Thodari has Ganesh Venkatraman, Nasser, Karunakaran, Harish Uthaman, and Thambi Ramaiah playing supporting roles.
The audio and trailer of the film were officially launched on June 6.
Dhanush had four releases last year namely Shamitabh, Anegan, Maari, and KS Ravikumar’s Thangamagan, excluding his guest appearance in Vai Raja Vai. Thodari marks his first release this year, with the exception of Visaranai and Amma Kanakku produced by him.
Prabhu Solomon has made two successful and socially relevant films in the past – Mynaa (2010) and Kayal (2014). Thodari is produced by Sathya Jyothi Films, who has also produced AK57 (or Thala57), Ajith’s upcoming film. Vetrivel Mahendran is the cinematographer of the film and music is by D Imman, whose last film’s audio – KS Ravikumar’s Mudinja Ivana Pudi – was officially launched recently.
