Dilip Kumar’s Wife Saira Banu Writes to Modi After Threats From Land Mafia

Saira Banu, actress and wife of Dilip Kumar, has requested for an appointment with Prime Minister Modi to discuss the dispute over the actor’s bungalow in Pali Hills. After facing threat from land mafia, she says she approached Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis but to no avail.

The plot was bought by Dilip Kumar in 1953. Banu says the couple has been facing threats from ‘land mafia’ Samir Bhojani ever since he was granted permission by them to build a cottage opposite their property.

Bhojani then forged documents to claim that the property where Kumar’s bungalow was built originally belonged to him. Following a prolonged legal battle for the last 12 years, Bhojani was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate Officials earlier in January when they found knives after raiding his home.

According to a Wion report, Chirag Shah, Saira Banu’s lawyer said, “Samir Bhojani is a wealthy man and has used his money power and filed 8-9 legal cases against Saira Banuji over the past few years. He has lost all of them. He has been harassing her for long.”

Banu had tweeted to Prime Minister Modi first when Bhojani was released on bail three months back.

She has once again written to him now.

“Just imagine that today we have to resort to this. To bring to the notice of the Prime Minister the injustice we have been facing for years. The whole world knows Dilip Sahab has taken ill for the past few years and he is a man who has made his country proud. This should not be happening to him. Our dear PM must help us out. We are fighting a muscle man, a land mafia who has so much wealth and pull in the political ambiance,” said Saira Banu.
