Dileesh Pothan- Fahad Faasil team up for a family drama, ‘Kumbalangi Nights’!

The team behind National Award Winning movies Maheshinte Prathikaaram and Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum are coming together with another movie and this time it is special. As announced earlier, the film titled Kumbalangi Nights is penned by Shyam Pushkaran, who also wrote Maheshinte Prathikaram. He is also co-producing the film with Dileesh Pothan.

Dileesh who directed Maheshinte Prathikaram and Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum has associated with scriptwriter Shyam Pushkaran to start a new production company named ‘Working Class Hero’. Dileesh has announced the news on his official Facebook page and also revealed the poster of his production company’s first venture Kumbalangi Nights which will see Fahadh Faasil in an important role.

The movie will be directed by Madhu C Narayan, a close ally to Dileesh and Shyam Pushkaran and will be co-produced by Fahadh Faasil’s production company ‘Fahadh Faasil and Friends’. The movie will have Shain Nigam, Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Mathew Thomas in lead roles.

A report from Times of India suggests that Fahad Fassil who is essaying an important role is going to be the antagonist of the film. Director of the film Madhu C Narayan says “His character is a prominent one in the film and the story is set in the contemporary era, but we aren’t in a position to divulge anything more about the role.”

Shyam Pushkaran, who will write the script and dialogues of the film, says, “It’s the first time that I am trying to write a script based on a modern family drama. It would be an experiment of sorts and all of us are quite thrilled about it.”

Heroines for the movie is not yet confirmed as the teams’ previous ventures had seen debutants coming in for roles. So this time also there might be chances of auditioning for new actresses. The film is all set to go on floors in August this year.

Fahad is currently working on two projects. One with Anwar Rasheed for the movie Trance and an untitled project of Amal Neerad. Fahad has recently won the National Award for Best Supporting Actor, for his character of Prasad in the movie Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum.
