Dilip Kumar Ordered To Pay Rs 20 Crore By Supreme Court In Property Dispute Case

Dilip Kumar’s property dispute has taken a new turn. The actor got into a real estate deal with Prajita Developers to develop his 2,412 square yards property in Pali Hill, Mumbai. The dispute arose later as no construction had been raised on the property, following which Dilip demanded that Prajita relinquish control of the property.

This decade-long case took a new turn, when the Supreme Court asked Dilip to deposit Rs 20 crore as part payment to the firm. When this is done, Prajita will be required by law to withdraw all security personnel deployed in the property, and to hand over the Pali Hill estate to Dilip.

A bench headed by Justice J Chelameswar and Justice S Abdul Nazeer asked the Bollywood actor to deposit the amount in the form of demand draft within four weeks.

“The Commissioner of Police or his nominee shall draw a panchnama of the fact of the handing over of the property by Prajita to the appellant and file the same in the registry of this court within a week from the date of the handing over of the possession. Upon the filing of the panchnama, Prajita shall be at liberty to withdraw the amount of Rs 20 crore deposited by the appellant pursuant to this order,” the bench said.

As the counsel on behalf of Prajita argued that they deserved more as compensation, the bench has asked former Justice P Venkatarama Reddy to arbitrate the matter between Dilip Kumar and Prajita Developers.
