Director Rajesh and Santhanam have come together for a film, the announcement for which was made in January. The shoot of the film, which is being bankrolled by Thenandal films, will start from October.
Director Rajesh told Silverscreen, “We are planning to start shooting from October 15. The project was supposed to start earlier but Santhanam had some prior commitments. After completing his work for Selvaraghavan’s film, we will begin the shoot.”
This new venture will be Rajesh and Santhanam’s seventh collaboration. While Santhanam has played the comedian in Rajesh’s films, right from his debut Siva Manasula Sakthi to Vasuvum Saravananum Onna Padichavanga, however in this film Santhanam will play the lead. Only in the director’s Kadavul Irukaan Kumaru, Santhanam did not take up the role of a comic as he was playing hero roles.

So, who will be the comedian in Santhanam’s film? Rajesh says, “Robo Shankar will do the comedy track for this film. We also have plans to rope in Muniskanth.”
The other cast members, including the female lead are yet to be finalised. There is a buzz that Sai Pallavi has been approached for the female lead. “We have approached a few leading heroines, but they are yet to finalise,” says Rajesh without revealing names.
The director says that the film will be a comedy and an official announcement about the film will soon be made.
