Cinematographer Prasad passed away yesterday at CMC, Vellore after a long illness. He was 53. Director Kumar, who worked with the DoP in his Virattu, hailed him a ‘modest man who kept to himself’. “He was an extraordinarily skilled DoP and will be greatly missed. Virattu will always be a testament to his work and knowledge,” he added.
Prasad, hailing from Andhra Pradesh, is perhaps best known for his work in Padaiyappa. He had over twenty years of experience and worked with some of the best and biggest names in the industry.
