Exotic Musical Instruments for Uttama Villain

Recommended

Kamal Haasan has handpicked a few antique musical instruments from Bali for Uttama Villain. Reportedly, the film’s composer Ghibran has also recorded a special segment using them. “It is a fantasy song. Considering how computerised our music has become, rarely do we opt for such exotic instruments. They sound very Indian actually,” said a source close to the film. The movie sees Kamal portraying the role of an 8th century drama actor (Uttaman), and a 21st century film star (Manoranjan). The music features a mix of orchestral symphony and traditional tunes. There is also a special song recorded with Theyyam artistes from Kerala.
