Fahadh Faasil is not a part of Rajinikanth’s next. Recent reports stated that Fahadh had been cast as Rajinikanth’s friend in the movie.

A spokesperson for the film told Silverscreen that the actor has not been approached for a role in the project. “Fahadh was never approached for a role in the film. I request the media not to speculate about the people cast in the film. Any and all details about the movie will come directly from the production house,” they said.

The team is getting ready for another schedule in Dehradun, said the spokesperson. “We are waiting on dates from cinematographer Thiru, following which we will know when this schedule will end,” they added.

A first look with the film’s title will be launched soon.

The untitled film is produced by Sun Pictures’ Kalanidhi Maran. The team wrapped up a schedule in Dehradun recently. Actor Simran is expected to play the lead opposite Rajinikanth while Megha Akash, Sanath Reddy play major roles. Karthik has cast Vijay Sethupathi, Bobby Simha in important roles in the film. Anirudh Ravichander is the music composer. This is the first time that Anirudh will compose for a Rajinikanth film.

Rumours indicate that Rajinikanth will be essaying the role of a college professor in this venture. However there is no official confirmation regarding this. There are also reports that this will be Rajinikanth’s last film. The actor reportedly wants to focus on his political career now on. This is Karthik Subbaraj’s fifth as director and Rajinikanth’s 165th film.

Fahadh Faasil made his Tamil debut with Velaikkaran. He played the antagonist in the project. The film went on to receive mixed reviews. However, Fahadh was praised for his performance.

He will be seen next in Thiagarajan Kumararaja’s Super Deluxe, in which he will share screenspace with Vijay Sethupathi, Samantha Ruth Prabhu among others.
